Hue Jackson wasn’t happy to see his veteran cornerback go.
According to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora, the Browns coach was “irate” at the team’s front office regarding their decision to release Joe Haden without compensation earlier this week. The move to cut Haden is the latest source of discontent between Jackson and the front office, the report says.
Haden was cut on Wednesday and it was reported that the Saints, Chiefs and Cowboys were interested in recruiting him, but he quickly signed a three-year deal worth $27 million with the Steelers after Pittsburgh emerged as the favorite to land the two-time Pro Bowler.
The short video, just less than a minute in length, featured messages from several players, including Pro Bowl tackle Joe Thomas, quarterback DeShone Kizer, linebackers Jamie Collins and Christian Kirksey, and coach Hue Jackson.
According to Pro Football Talk, the players got the idea for the video after talking with former Browns great Jim Brown during the preseason. Brown has been vocal in his support for the message about social issues Colin Kaepernick and others have tried to spread through national anthem protests, but has encouraged them to find an alternative method to communicate their message.
