Report: Brian Flores Jersey won’t get title but will call defensive plays for Patriots

New England has not named anyone to take over from Matt Patricia after he left to become head coach of the Lions, but Flores was the favorite for the job.

Patricia took over play-calling duties for the Patriots in 2011 after Dean Pees left, but Bill Belichick did not give Patricia the title until 2012. It appears Flores will have to earn his wings, too.

Flores, 37, has risen up the ranks since he arrived in New England as a scouting assistant in 2004. He transitioned to the coaching side in 2008, and the Patriots Gabriel Landeskog Womens Jersey promoted him to linebackers coach in 2016.

Despite his inauspicious debut, Lewis believes he’s squarely in the mix for the starting nod this spring. While he needs to learn a new multiple-scheme offense that might not be tailored to his gun-run talents, Lewis said his chances are as good as anyone’s for the QB vacancy.

Competition is good, he said. You’re going to compete every day of your life, so might as well compete like we’re doing now.

With Forrest Lamp returning from a torn ACL and the Chargers having two guards set to hit free agency next week, the outlook for the the line is a bit uncertain. Slauson and Kenny Wiggins combined to make 23 starts at guard for the Chargers with Spencer Pulley starting all 16 games at center.
