It shouldn’t be too long before Aaron Rodgers is back atop the NFL quarterback pay scale.
Elite Youth Dale Hawerchuk Jersey Green Bay Packers president Mark Murphy told ESPN on Tuesday there has already been progress made toward a new contract for the two-time NFL MVP even though he’s signed through the 2019 season.
Murphy said new general manager Brian Gutekunst and executive vice president/director of football operations Russ Ball both have been involved in the process.
We’ve had discussions with his representative, Murphy said at the NFL scouting combine. I have a lot of confidence in Brian and Russ and Aaron as well. We want to create a win-win.

Rodgers’ undervalued contract has been an issue for at least a year. Last summer, he said: I know my value in this league, and I know the team appreciates me. I’m going to continue to make myself an indispensable part of this roster. When you do that, when your time comes up to get a contract, you usually get a contract extension.
Rodgers is scheduled to make $20.9 million this season and David Krejci Womens Jersey $21.1 million in 2019. His salary-cap figures are similar. The Packers are expected to have at least $16 million in salary-cap space when free agency opens next month.
Now that both Brian Elliott and Michal Neuvirth are pegged to miss weeks with their respective injuries, Mrazek has only Alex Lyon (one complete game in the NHL to date) to fight off for starts on a Flyers club that ranks 11th in the NHL with an average of 3.00 goals per contest. Detroit sits 27th with 2.60.
Cousins will have strong suitors everywhere, but the Browns, who are in rebuilding mode, should avoid an unreasonable bidding war for the services of QB who turns 30 before the season. This is a chance for them to redo the deal for McCarron, 27, after the midseason trade fell through with the Bengals. Jackson, who worked with a young McCarron for two years in Cincinnati, would like the opportunity to work with the QB again in Cleveland.
The Browns would need to battle fewer teams for McCarron’s services (maybe only the Broncos) and could get him at a better price in relation to the others as he’s still a mostly unknown backup quantity. In either case, Cleveland should not spend to the point where it’s forced to start McCarron. The better scenario is signing him and also drafting a rookie, in whatever early round, with the intention of having him compete with McCarron.
